Psychological Safety at Work
Half-day trainer-led course on psychological safety for leaders and managers
Overview
A half-day course for leaders and managers covering what psychological safety is, why people avoid speaking up, what makes them feel safe to contribute, and practical steps for building it in a team. Grounded in Amy Edmondson's research. The pack gives a trainer everything needed to deliver, adapt or rebrand the session: scripted notes, slides, workbook, handouts and certificates in editable and PDF formats.
Format. Half day (about three hours including a coffee break). Designed for classroom delivery and adaptable to live online sessions.
Who it is for. Leaders and managers who want to understand and build psychological safety in their teams; no prior knowledge of the topic is required.
What delegates take away
- Identify what psychological safety is and why it is important
- Pinpoint the things that undermine psychological safety in a team
- Analyse the factors that drive psychological safety
- Develop a strategy and action plan to support psychological safety in their own team
Course outline

The learning-zone matrix from The Fearless Organization, 'ideal' versus learning behaviour, a statements-matching card activity and types of failure.
The benefits for teams and organisations, including Google's research on what makes an effective team.
The main reasons people stay silent at work and the fears behind them.
Group discussion of what makes participants feel safe to speak up, followed by the factors research identifies.
