A one-day course covering what mentoring involves, the skills mentors need, and how to run a mentoring relationship from first meeting to close. Maps the mentor's skillset, then works through strategies for effective conversations, open-ended questioning, listening practice, and ten principles for giving feedback.
Covers setting SMART goals with a mentee and practical ways to build rapport.
Breaks the mentorship into phases, from preparing the first meeting and drafting a mentoring agreement through middle meetings to closing the relationship, with six challenging scenarios and possible solutions.
Participants assess their current mentoring strengths and gaps, set a personal action plan, and recap the learning objectives.
