Overview
A scenario-based, self-paced e-learning course on change management and leadership. Leaders step into the meeting where a change is announced and the room goes quiet, choose how to answer the person who says the old way worked fine, and see whether resistance hardens or eases — then learn the approach that carries a team through the dip and makes the change hold. Delivered as a SCORM 1.2 package for your LMS, with completion tracking.
Format. Self-paced, scenario-based e-learning. SCORM 1.2 — upload it to your LMS and completion tracks automatically.
Runtime. About 26 minutes of learner time, in 4 sessions the package spaces 2, 5 and 30 days apart. Measured from the narration in the package at the speed it plays, plus the time to read and answer what is on screen. It assumes you listen rather than reading ahead; times vary with the path you take and how fast you read.
Who it is for. Any organisation that wants to run this as self-paced learning; suitable for employees at any level.
What learners take away
- Understand organizational change and what it involves
- Identify change management approaches and strategies
- Apply strategies to guide employees effectively through change
- Build a change leadership plan
Course outline
Welcome, course objectives, and the Be a Designer drawing activity, which lets participants experience the discomfort of constant, unexplained change first-hand.
Defines change as a transition between states and examines why organizations change, who is involved, common change situations, types of change, obstacles to successful change, and the difference between change management and change leadership.
Participants work through a change scenario, compare approaches to managing change, and study Lewin's unfreeze-change-refreeze model with concrete actions for each stage.
Covers why employees resist change and what managers can do about it, with sections on communication, judging how much information to give, providing support, and empowering staff.
Each participant builds a personal change leadership plan to apply the course content to a real change they need to lead, followed by a recap of the objectives.
