Employee Engagement & Motivation
Half-day trainer's pack on employee engagement and motivation for managers.
Overview
A half-day course on employee engagement and motivation for managers. It covers what engagement looks like in practice, how it differs from motivation, job satisfaction and commitment, the workplace factors that drive it, and ends with each participant drafting an action plan for their own team. The pack contains everything needed to deliver the session in a classroom or online, and every file is editable and rebrandable.
Format. Half day. Designed for classroom delivery and adaptable to live online sessions.
Who it is for. New and experienced managers who want practical ways to engage and motivate their staff; the material is open level and assumes no prior study.
What delegates take away
- Identify what employee engagement is, how engaged employees behave, and the benefits of an engaged workforce.
- Distinguish engagement from related concepts including motivation, job satisfaction and commitment.
- Pinpoint the areas that affect engagement, from work environment and job arrangements to leadership, and select strategies to improve it.
- Develop an action plan to address specific engagement challenges in their own team.
Course outline
Participants define engagement, examine how engaged and disengaged employees behave across four engagement levels, test common myths in a true-or-false exercise, and review the benefits of an engaged workforce.
Compares engagement with motivation, job satisfaction and commitment, and works through how the four concepts differ and interconnect.
Covers the challenges and areas that shape engagement — the social, physical and mental work environment, job arrangements, and leadership and organization — and how to choose engagement strategies.
Each participant starts an action plan that addresses a specific engagement challenge in their own team, using the supplied handouts.
